Spicy Sausage Pizza Nachos

Spicy Sausage Pizza Nachos. Rolls nicely off the tongue, right? Well, they taste even better when they hit your tongue. What’s better is they are so easy and quick to make. Grab what you want to top the nachos with, stack in a pan and 10 minutes later you’re in front of the TV catching that highlight play.

Pizza and Nachos are essentially comprised of the same ingredients. Starch, sauce, cheese and toppings. Both favorites are baked and both are crazy popular.

When I first mentioned to the family I was planning on making the Pizza Nachos, I received mixed reactions. Some were cautious and some were not excited. I guess the concept of mashing the two party favs was just too foreign. Ok…maybe the thought of Pizza Nachos was a bit off, so I shelved the post.

I guess a few days of thought had the fam warming to the idea. I figured this out when I started coming home from work and the first question was, “Are you making those nacho things tonight?”. Ah Ha! Maybe I was onto something.

The Pizza Nachos

What I chose to top my nachos with was; spicy Italian sausage, Margherita pepperoni, cubanelle peppers, black olives and parsley. Don’t let my toppings stop you though. Have fun with this.

Pizza Nachos Ingredients

Pile the base level of chips in an oven safe baking dish with sauce and cheese. I used a squeeze bottle for the sauce so I could get an even layer without it getting gloppy. Gloppy sauce means extra soggy chips.

Base Layer

Pile on some more chips, sauce and cheese. After you pile on the second layer, add your favorite toppings. I went with spicy Italian sausage because Italian sausage is a standard for any pizza we eat. Margherita Pepperoni is the best pepperoni, period. If you can get your hands on some and have never had it, you will not be disappointed. Just ask anyone from Western New York.

All Topped

Once you have all your toppings loaded on, place the nachos in a preheated 425° oven for 10-15 minutes. Check the nachos periodically during the last few minutes to ensure they don’t burn.

Voila! There you have it. Two party favorites in one tasty dish.
