Hello there. My name is Nathan and I used to be a Professional Chef. My passion for all things food started at a very early age and was fostered by a close relationship with my Grandmother. I loved watching her cook, eating her food and listening to her talk about food and cooking. As a child my Saturdays were spent primarily with my Gram traveling the roads of Western New York State hitting roadside produce stands, small mom and pop restaurants or “critiquing” a new restaurant that Gram wanted to try. Coincidentally my very first job at the age of 15 was busting suds as a dishwasher at the local fine dining establishment. I was immediately hooked. The restaurant biz had wormed it’s way into my soul and there was no letting go. From there I went on to cooking in and managing everything from Four Star, Four Diamond restaurants to your local neighborhood tavern.
As my family grew larger and my career advanced I found myself spending more time at work and less time at home. This was not a good recipe. A few years ago I decided to hang up the apron, toss the paper hat and join the rat race for a 9-5 job in the IT field. Even though I am no longer in the professional kitchens, the passion for the kitchen and desire to create has never left me. This need for a creative outlet has inspired me to start From Chef To Home.
