Creamy Italian Dressing Recipe
When you are craving that awesome Creamy Italian Dressing you get at your favorite Italian Restaurant, look no further than your own pantry.
When I was younger, salads with your dinner were a must, especially when dining at an Italian Restaurant. Fresh. Crisp. Flavorful and one restaurant in particular would roll up slices of mozzarella cheese and then cut them into little curls of cheesy goodness. The final touch was two dill pickle chips and a cascade of Creamy Italian Dressing. The salads there were just plain awesome and definitely an influence on my path into the culinary industry.
The Inspiration
Plain and simple, the inspiration for this post is I just love Creamy Italian Dressing. I don’t make this dressing quite as much as I should, especially considering how easy it is to make. About half way through my career as a Chef, I had a dressing epiphany as I was working my way up to taking over the Garde Manger Department at Pinehurst Resort. A compound salad was on a BEO that called for Creamy Italian Dressing and I wasn’t satisfied with the recipe that was on the books. Calling back on the days of enjoying the salads of my youth, I knew exactly the flavor I was after. A bit of mayo, some vinegar, seasoning, voila! I had the achieved success and was astonished at how easily it came together.
With just a few ingredients and a few minutes, you too can enjoy restaurant quality Creamy Italian Dressing.
